A night with the Storm Kings
Wow. Just… wow.
You hear things sometimes about a new band, but it doesn’t matter how good the recommendation, or how good the heritage – until you hear them you just don’t know. There’s always that hint of “are they REALLY that good” lingering in the back of your mind.
Suffice to say that the tiny bit of doubt about Storm Kings on Saturday wasn’t just assuaged, it was blown out of the water, down the road and washed up somewhere just outside Ashton.
These guys rocked, and the dozens who turned out, rocked out and got very messy will agree.
A great set list, superbly played and sung with a nice little dose of banter (and what do you lot mean you don’t like the Rolling Stones), combined with a few late arrivals from a birthday outing brought together what can only be described as a perfect storm.
They’re back on 23rd May as part of our mammoth May Bank Holiday weekend where we have bands on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. Hold on to your hats, people.
